I'd say digital sketch because I use photoshop and wacom tablet to paint this image. It's almost the same like using traditional thing but there are more advantages to use digital packages. Still, I am using my hand to paint and draw (on the tablet), software doesn't do those thing automatically. The most popular painting and drawing softwares are Photoshop, and Corel Painter.
